Casein is a unique paint medium allowing beautiful transparencies and vibrant color. After drying completely which takes about 2 days it is extremely resilient and doesn't need any kind of glazing to protect it.  Unlike watercolor, it doesn't fade over time.

Florals are a natural for casein.Look at Black Irises and you'll see transparent petals. Blending colors is easy and can be done by glazing or mixing. It's a medium I use often and enjoy.

This series was created using the same still life.  I painted it 20 times and went on a journey into abstraction.  These paintings are framed and ready to hang.  They are a combination of media including acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and watercolor gesso.

The cover image was selected by the California Watercolor Association for it's National Show for 2020.

These paintings were inspired by our firefighter heroes.  The reference photos came from the firefighters themselves or from their families. It was an honor to paint them.
